Sigh...

Just after I change the background, it's Greenleaf. But I will be stubborn so at least until July 4th it is still Newleaf! Take that, Nature!

My next post will actually be relevant.

Ashfur Pt.2

*WARNING: READ THE WARNING ON PT 1 BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL LIKE WRITING IT ALL OUT...SHOOT I JUST MADE THE WARNING LONGER THAN PT 1's WARNING...ALSO THIS MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR LEPRECHAUNS AND PEOPLE I DON'T LIKE....AND STARBURSTS UNDER THE AGE OF 4*

Sorry about that, I was feeling a bit random today...

So as the title suggests, I will be continuing with my Ashfur rant. My first and foremost statement: Ashfur is not a traitor. And he isn't. I think my point is summed up quite nicely in this blog dedicated completely to Ashfur (Also, if you read that blog, the level of obsession is equal to my obsession with Crowfeather <3) Here's the link- http://ashfurfans.webs.com/. Pay close attention to the "Traitor?" page.

Here are some of my own key points:

First off- Ashfur has had the hardest life of any other cat in the series (disagree? Post it in the comments) and has dealt with it better than many cats who had it easier. Some of his hardships:
Mother killed by dogs
Father killed by BloodClan
Two siblings die
Dumped by Squirrelflight
Dumped by Whitewing
Not to mention all the dead nieces and nephews
AND they try to make him a traitor!?!?!

No. Do you know what he was? He was angry. Not a traitor. ANGRY. I don't know about you, but I would have gone insane by #3. You know who is a traitor though? Brambleclaw. He never said no to Hawkfrost. He eavesdropped, spied, took his anger out on Ashfur, how many more examples do you need? And yet, everyone loves him. *Sigh* I hope I've gotten through to you people.

Final notes- Start commenting. Don't be shy. If you want me to hit on any topics or elaborate on Ashfur, speak up! And answer my questions of the post!

QP: What makes a traitor? Who in the series (besides Tigerclaw, Hawkfrost and the obvious ones) fits the bill the best?

The Prophecies of Fire

*WARNING-SPOILERS FOR BLUESTAR'S PROPHECY AND THE FIRST WARRIORS SERIES*

Extra special thanks to ♥ Shalana Black ♥ for putting this idea in my head, which reminds me. Anything you guys want me to post about, just leave a comment and I'll post as soon as possible. Also, if you have any questions, same thing applies. I also apologize for not posting for 6 days.

So, following my post on Firepaw's name, ♥ Shalana Black ♥ pointed out that Bluestar's prophecy, which foretold a great destiny for her, also mentioned fire (Like fire, you will blaze through the forest.) Could it just be coincidence? It is true that fire holds all cats in a state of awe as they watch it's power and destruction. It's also true, though, that Starclan's prophecies have many levels and as addicted fans, it is our job to find meanings that even Erin Hunter herself didn't think of! So, what do you think? Was Starclan, on some level, telling Bluestar that this Fire would lead her clan, would forever be a part of her clan's fate? I think so. Or it could be just a weird coincidence.

QP-What do you think? Is there a connection between the prophecies?

Lightning-the cliche.

*MINOR SPOILERS FOR MOONRISE*

When the questing cats return to the Tribe to rescue Stormfur, Sharptooth appears. Only a split second before, rain starts pouring down, the cliched bad omen. The cats' first sight of Sharptooth is when it is illuminated by a flash of lightning, again a cliched show of evil. I just thought I'd point out how VERY cliched this is. It would be better if it had already been raining, or the unexpected could occur and the Sharptooth would appear on a bright, sunny day. It's just something I wanted to bring up.

Also, do you guys like my new poll? Check it out on the side bar.

QOP (Question of the Post)- Were they right to go back for Stormfur?

Why name him Firepaw?

*WARNING- SPOILERS FOR....I DON'T KNOW MAYBE INTO THE WILD*

So, the first scene of the first book of the first series, the very thing that introduced a nation wide craze for, as my friend teasingly calls it, Warrior Kitties, was a prophecy. "Fire alone can save your clan." Only a day or two later, a kittypet with a flame colored coat is accepted and named Firepaw. Could Bluestar have forgotten the prophecy and the name be coincidence? VERY unlikely. More likely she was desperate to save her clan. In the name Firepaw, she wrapped her hopes and fears, just hoping that this was what the prophecy meant. She put her clan's fate in that name and Starclan showed her what was right. Starclan bless you, Bluestar. You, your clan, and the leaders to come.

Also, she says that never before has the clan had so few apprentices in training. With Firepaw, there were now four, but frequently afterward there were three, or two or even one apprentice(s) training. You lied to us...kinda! Sorry, that's just been bugging me.

Question of the Post: Was naming him Firepaw and voicing her hopes a smart idea on the part of Bluestar?

Ashfur Pt 1

*WARNING-MAJOR SPOILERS FOR NEW PROPHECY THROUGH POWER OF THREE*

Ashfur. Just the name brings rushes of feelings and memories, as all good characters should. The betrayal, the love, the desperation. But the question remains, what do we really feel about Ashfur?

Now there must be at least a few of you thinking "Wha?!?!?! But he's evil! A traitor! What do you mean what do we feel? We're supposed to hate him!!" But that's the problem, isn't it? Yes, he was troubled, dark, maybe even evil. But no heroes are without fault. Squirrelflight herself hid from her own kits their true parentage. Firestar broke the warrior code innumerable times! Yellowfang killed her own son after blinding him! But, back to Squirrelflight. She held back that she didn't love Ashfur! She lied to him and then broke up with him by telling him she loved another cat! The fact that he didn't lose his mind then and there is amazing. For lack of a better analogy, from Ashfur's perspective it probably went like this:

So a person walks up to you and gives you a lollipop (you can already tell from that sentence that this is a horrible analogy.) They say "I really like this lollipop so I thought I'd give it to someone special." Then, a few days later, they rip the lollipop from your fingers saying "The lollipop is too special for you! I'm giving it to the more specialful person who later is going to break my heart cause I lied to him about his 'children'!"

Wow, i can't believe I just wrote that. Maybe I should have used like a wedding ring... Too late to turn back now!

Squirrelflight's perspective:

Someone has her lollipop and they seem to be flaunting it in front of her. She made a mistake so takes back the lollipop and gives it to the 'right' person.

I have a lot about Ashfur so I will leave you to digest that and right more tommorow.

Question of the Post: Who do you think was right for Squirrelflight?
